Hello Parents,

This is our 5th school day in Murcia and the students are continuing to enjoy the culture of it.  Yesterday, Friday, April 17th, our journey started at 8:20am, at the Institute Alfonso X El Sabio.  At 8:30am we headed to Alicante, a province to the north of Murcia.  When we arrived at Alicante, we were greeted by our tour guide named Santiago, and he began his informational tour at el Castillo Santa Barbara. He informed the group of a lot of important information about when the Arabs first lived here.  This Castillo is a fortification in the centre of Alicante.

We then headed to el Museo de Agua de Alicante (Alicante Water Museum) (M2A) and the students were impressed about the Pozos de Garrigós (Gorrigós Wells).  These pozos were used to receive and accumulate the rainwater brought by an aqueduct to a city with serious water shortage problems.  At 12:00pm our tour was over and the students had the opportunity to shop, walk, and enjoy the beautiful beach in the providence of Alicante.

Today, Saturday and tomorrow Sunday, the students will be with their hosting family.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend because your children are having a great time.

Sincerely,

Sra. Ceballo and Srta. Romero

P.S.  Sorry for the delay.  We have been experiencing difficulties with the internet here at the hotel.
